Why are some mini pigs bigger than others-scroll down to see piglets, read if you are curious?
It's genetics! We have been breeding these guys for almost 17 years, so when you come to the ranch you get to see generation after generation of pigs, you will see grand parents, great grand parents, great great grand parents and great, great great grand parents and some lines you will see even more (up to 10 generations right now)! What this means for you is we do not have big lines in our pigs. If you buy from a breeder who does not have generations on the farm, or from an auction or random ad, you will never know if great grandpa pig was a 600 pound berkshire pig, making your pig easily 300 pounds! We do not promise pigs under 50 pounds, its very rare! What we promise is we don't use pigs from random lines, we don't purchase outside pigs from free ad sites, we want to know what goes into our pigs so you don't end up with a 100 pound pig! Of course if you choose to overfeed your pig, we can't help that, we can help guide you along the way (we are just a text away). Frequently asked questions
Where are you located?
We are 11 miles west of Redding, in a tiny town called IGO. We do deliveries to Fresno area and custom deliveries if you don't want to make the drive
Can we visit the pigs first?
Certainly! We do charge a tour fee, its $100 for up to an hour for 4 people, limited to our availability, but if you pick a piglet or place a deposit, we subtract the cost of he tour fee.
How big do they get?
This is a complicated question. The typical size of our adults is 65-80 pounds which sounds quite large, its not. Its about 14-15" tall. Keep in mind pigs are genetically almost like us! They can get fat if not active and not fed properly. The rule of thumb is 1-2% of their body weight for food daily. We only use small lines that we have bred for nearly 20 years. After a piglet leaves here , its up to the owners to do the right thing.
What makes a better pet, male or female?
This truly is a personal preference, both are great pets.
Do you rent pigs?
